Hello Pedro, we have known each other for a long time and in our interview section, where we meet the dance professionals who help to make this wonderful world bigger, you could not miss.

As we both want to spread the benefits of dancing, improve people's lives through dance and get more people to enjoy our passion for dancing we ask you these questions to know your vision about it.

So just tell us briefly...

Who's Pedro Gea? and why did you start dancing?

I am Pedro Gea, more than 15 years ago I dedicate myself to the world of dance and create my own school Así Se Baila 11 years ago.

From that moment on, struggling to achieve my every purpose, I have dedicated myself in body and soul to my profession.

Profession from which I learn daily and to which I thank him for all he gives me every day. It makes me feel very alive and connected to myself.

I started dancing simply because it had always been one of my passions.

What's the best experience you've had since you danced?
After many years dedicated to the world of dance, I made it my profession and my life.

I realize that you can only live and enjoy it from total surrender, from the intimate connection of your spirit and will.

A gift that treasures unconditionality and, in turn, gives you the magic of connection with your true essence.

We will surely have to abandon other purposes, objectives or responsibilities, but none of them will be so intense, so real or so profound as to discover that each pore of your skin is attached to your heart, your thoughts, your emotions and the plasticity of your body, transforming your language into a vibration, your words in motion and your senses into emotions.

Why do you think it's good for people to dance? and what's the best dance for you?

If an image is worth a thousand words, in dance, a movement is worth a thousand images, because it involves the vibration of illusion, imagination, sensuality, the desire for freedom.

If you learn to connect with your body, you learn to connect with freedom. If you learn to express your emotions, you learn to release your pain, to express your joy, to share your love.

When you dance time disappears, expands, adapts, showing the precious relativity to which Einstein referred.

It's not time that's important, what's really important is what you do with it.

Tell us a virtue and a defect you have
One of my virtues is creativity, versatility and listening.

And one of my biggest flaws is that I don't know how to say NO.

You're a dance teacher, choreographer, school director, dancer, how do you get to all this? What do you like best?

The really important thing is to put things in order and prioritize them according to the needs and concerns of the moment.

What I like best is to create and give dance lessons because it gives you the possibility to put in each person and choreography something that comes from you.

This has an incalculable value to know you, your potential, what you want to express and to help other people do it in the form of choreography or simply dancing.

If you had to choose a dance style for people to start doing dance classes, which one would you choose and why?

The best answer to this question is to choose the style of dance that moves them most internally at that moment.

If it is the right one, they will spend a lot of time learning and enjoying it.

In fact, if you let it go after a while, it wasn't your style of dancing and it's time to try again.

Tell us a little about the beginnings of Así se Baila. How did the idea of creating a dance school come about? and what project do you have at school?
We decided to create Así Se Baila (ASB) 11 years ago after giving classes in different schools.

First we rented rooms by the hour until we took a giant step forward, having our current headquarters in Gran Vía 432, in Barcelona.

Since that time we have only grown in the 5 areas of the school as we seek to be multidisciplinary.

Our biggest current project is to continue maintaining our essence, a nearby school that is committed to quality, fun and the best humane treatment.

What do you think the future of the dance world will be like (dance halls, schools, congresses...)?

Answering this question is very difficult, but ultimately it will be what we want it to be.

There each of the dance halls, dance schools, teachers, etc... will do their bit for the benefit of the artistic world, or for your own pocket or personal ego.

We'll see about that.

So far the interview with Pedro Gea, founder and director of the dance school Así Se Baila in Barcelona.

Thank you very much for your time and see you on our 1st anniversary of go&dance in the best possible way, dancing.
