Nordic Bachata Congress 2026 - Social Stars
Fantastic festival overall. The organization was excellent, the venue was beautiful, the air conditioning was great, and the after-party was incredible. You could really feel the love and attention to detail throughout the entire event, including the day social.
There are only a few areas for improvement. The music could have been a bit more diverse, with a broader range of Bachata styles played by the DJs.
My main criticism concerns the guest dancers. Many seemed to stay within their own circles, dancing and interacting mostly with other artists and guest dancers. As a paying attendee, this creates an unnecessary divide and makes you wonder what value the guest dancers bring beyond marketing and social media visibility. Some simple guidelines encouraging more interaction with attendees could make a big difference. Of course, you can and should dance with your friends, but for example: don’t dance in front of the DJ for an hour—just some really easy requests, after all, they do get “paid”.
The same feeling was reinforced by the videography on the last night, which appeared to focus almost exclusively on artists and guest dancers rather than the wider community enjoying the event.
It’s a shame because the festival itself is truly fantastic, and these are the only aspects that leave a slightly bitter aftertaste. One additional suggestion would be to communicate the availability of party passes earlier.
Despite these points, I already bought my ticket for next year because I enjoyed the festival so much. That’s also why I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism—the event is already great and has the potential to be even better.
