Kaunas Bachata Festival 2026
What did I like:
I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere and the turnout at the event. There were so many people to dance with, which made the social dancing experience fantastic. I could see how such festival looks in a different country.
What did I not like:
First of all, I want to highlight that this is completely beyond the organizers control, but I had a couple of unpleasant social interactions on the dance floor. I danced with a few partners whose attitude was disappointing—one lady literally thanked me mid-dance and walked away just because a few figures didn't go perfectly. Another one complained that I was bumping into other couples, completely ignoring the fact that the floor was absolutely packed. Again, I know this is not the organizers' fault, but it did impact the experience.
As for things that could be improved by the team: it was way too hot during the parties in the main room, so better ventilation or air conditioning is definitely needed. Also, the pre-party could have been much better communicated and signposted. It took place in a completely different location, and I had a really hard time finding the venue. Clearer directions and better will definitely help.
