BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY
Lourdes Tenorio is a dancer born in Cádiz (Spain), based in the city of Puerto Real, who enjoys great prestige and fame both nationally and internationally.
She began her training in Oriental Dance in 2003, under the guidance of Saida, a dancer of Moroccan origin. She soon began training with renowned teachers such as Randa Kamel, Mohamed Shahim, Munique Neith, Yassir Yamal, Oscar Flores, Wael Mansour, Gitza, Tommy King, Dina, Mohamed el Sayed, Jillina Carlano, Artem Uzunov, Simon Sako, Yousry Sharif, as well as renowned teachers in the area.
She studied for four years with the Moroccan dancer Naima Bakkali. She then received three years of professional training with the Lebanese dancer Nada Choauib and became part of her professional ballet company.
She has a wide range of shows and acts: sword dancing, fire fans and fire palms, Isis wings, silk fans, candelabra, canes, veils, percussion, fusion... and the possibility of live music as she has musicians at her disposal.
In 2013, she founded her own school of Oriental dance, Arabic folklore, and fusion, "La Danza del Sur" (The Dance of the South) in Puerto Real, where she is currently the director, teacher, and choreographer.
She has collaborated in numerous events, shows, and festivals such as Ahlan wa Sahlan (Egypt), Spirit of Cairo (Berlin), Etna Bellydance Festival in Sicily (Italy), Sahel el Nour (Jerez de la Frontera), Los Cuatro Elementos (Granada), Huelva Oriental, Oriental Weekend Festival (Seville)...
She has directed two online International Dance Festivals (La Danza Debe Seguir 1 and La Danza Debe Seguir 2).
She has directed several music videos with international artists, doing the choreography, organization, dancing, editing, and production. Her latest work was a fantastic music video with the great international dancer and Egyptian percussionist Mohamed el Sayed.
She performs individually or with her dance company, which she founded and directs, composed of five dancers, in hotels, weddings, events of all kinds, and restaurants such as La Medina de Tetuán in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz). She also participates in medieval and themed markets throughout Spain with her group of musicians, Zahora Raks, dancing to countless styles of music: Celtic, Sephardic, Balkan, Nordic, Gypsy...
Every year she organizes and directs a show of oriental dance, folklore, and fusion at the Teatro Principal in Puerto Real, where she showcases all the work done annually with her students, while also receiving the collaboration of many dancers from the area.
