JOHNNY EGUIA
Born in Venezuela, it can be said that since childhood he has lived dance as a way of
life, but it was upon his arrival in Spain that he began to train as a dancer and teacher at the most important national and international dance congresses (Salsorro, SimpoSalsa, UK
Salsa Congress). In 2001, he began teaching Latin rhythms in Asturias, and shortly thereafter became the choreographer for the Son Latinos Association and a delegate for one of the most important congresses in Spain, Salsorro.
Since then, he has participated in several salsa championships, finishing as runner-up (couples dance) in the SALSA OPEN NACIONAL
DE LEÓN professional dance competition in 2004, runner-up (couples dance) in the SALSA BRUGAL DE LEÓN competition, also in 2004, and champion of the SALSA BRUGAL NACIONAL competition held in Oviedo in 2005.
And so we come to 2009, when Norte Latino began to take shape...

LAURA ALONSO
From the age of 3, she devoted herself to ballet and Spanish dance, graduating in Music and Dance (Logse) in 1997. She then began teaching ballet at various dance schools in Asturias and preparing choreographies for various events (charity galas, musicals...), starting out by chance in Latin rhythms after an injury prevented her from continuing with ballet
. She continued her training as a dancer and teacher at the most important national and international dance conferences, such as SimpoSalsa and Salsorro, where she met Johnny in 2007. Shortly after, he became her Latin dance teacher... And so we come to 2009.

NORTE LATINO
The union of Johnny and Laura in 2009 gave rise to the idea of creating Norte Latino.
They began to teach regular and intensive Latin Rhythms classes together, also participating in congresses as teachers of workshops in various styles (Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba...); They launched a website as a means of promoting dance to anyone who might be interested, and they created their own dance
company, which premiered its first choreography (Nuevos Comienzos) in January 2010, a few weeks after organizing the First Norte Latino International Dance Congress in Oviedo.
Since then, they have continued their teaching work throughout northern Spain, holding regular parties to encourage everyone to dance and spreading their passion for the world of dance.
In September 2011, they also opened the Norte Latino Dance School, the only school specializing in Latin rhythms in Asturias, which, together with the Norte Latino Congress, continues to be a success today.
