Francisco Vásquez Báez, better known as "El Gualdia," is a prominent Dominican artist whose passion for music manifested itself at an early age.
Originally from the Los Guandules neighborhood in Santo Domingo, he has had a diverse and multifaceted career that has taken him to stages around the world.
From an early age, he showed a keen interest in music and dance.
At the age of 13, he made his first television appearance with the children's dance group "Los Chavales."
This was the beginning of his artistic career, where he began to develop his talent.
In his youth, he decided to join the Dominican army, where he rose to the rank of sergeant.
He participated in the "Free Iraq" mission between 2003 and 2004, which made him a war veteran.
This experience earned him the nickname "El Gualdia," a reference to his work in the military.
In 2005, after completing his service, he emigrated to Spain to continue his musical career.
Upon arriving in Spain, he resumed his artistic career with great success.
He shared the stage with important groups and artists such as Aventura, El Gran Combo, Los Hermanos Rosario, and Don Omar.
These collaborations allowed him to gain recognition and consolidate his position in the music industry. He
later moved to Basel, Switzerland, where he had the innovative idea of celebrating Dominican Independence Day on February 27, calling the event "La Gran Parada Dominicana de Basilea."
This event brought together the city's Dominican diaspora and became a significant annual celebration.
In Switzerland, he continued to perform at various nightclubs and concert halls.
One of his greatest hits was the bachata song "Tinga," which has accumulated millions of plays on digital platforms, boosting his popularity.
Thanks to this success, he has had the opportunity to tour and perform in several European countries, including Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, and Norway, as well as returning to the Dominican Republic to continue his career.
Throughout his career, he has released several musical works and participated in numerous important events.
