Origin
Sara van Hamburg is a dedicated and experienced dance teacher based in Sundsvall. She was born in the Netherlands but raised in Sweden, where she came into contact with both dance and music at an early age.
As a child, she danced ballet and trained in martial arts for almost ten years, which laid the foundation for her body control and discipline. With musical parents, Sara grew up in a home full of rhythms and tones, and learned to play several instruments early on. Her main instrument is the piano, which she has also performed on stage in Stockholm, among other places.
At the age of 16 she discovered salsa and bachata, and at the age of 17 she started teaching. As a teenager she also danced and competed in salsa in several Swedish cities. At the age of 21 she founded her own dance school, Salsa Sundsvall, which is today the largest Salsa & Bachata dance school in Northern Sweden. At the dance school she teaches 6 courses a week and several bootcamps each semester. She has also taught in other cities, both in Sweden and abroad, including Skellefteå, Umeå, Örnsköldsvik, Östersund, Hudiksvall and Amsterdam. She is appreciated for her clear pedagogy, her musical expression and her technical knowledge.
She strongly believes that anyone can learn to dance, with the right support, a safe environment and clear guidance. Her teaching is based on technique, musicality and joy, and she strives for each student to feel seen and develop at their own pace.
