Roberto Trigona and Maja Selar represent two unique yet perfectly complementary dance journeys, united by passion, curiosity, and a shared love for connection through movement.
Roberto began dancing at just 16 years old, performing in resorts before quickly moving into professional training and collaboration. By the age of 20, he was working with some of the most prestigious dance schools in Milan and participating in the world’s most important international dance congresses. In 1999, he became Regional Champion of Argentine Tango and opened his own dance school in Milan. His career continued to expand internationally, leading to the title of National Champion of Caribbean Dances in Slovenia in 2021. In 2023, Roberto opened his dance school in Rijeka, where he also teaches at the Italian Community Club, becoming important in the local dance scene.
Maja is a dancer whose path began with salsa and gradually expanded through continuous training across Europe. Guided by strong mentors and formative international experiences, her movement language is rooted in salsa and bachata, enriched by influences from hip hop, West African dance, kizomba, heels, dancehall, and Brazilian Zouk.
She approaches dance as a space of freedom, presence, musicality, clarity of movement, and body awareness. Teaching selectively, her work is shaped by a broad, cross-style understanding of movement and learning. Her personal motto is Dance is a gift. Be grateful, and never stop dancing.
At Fiume Fusion Festival 2026, Roberto Trigona and Maja Selar proudly represent the Salsa scene, sharing their passion, knowledge, and energy with the dancers of Rijeka and beyond.
