Welcome to Bachatown – the Weekend!

Organised by Dance Spot Zurich, Bachatown is an event that takes place on the first Friday of every other month in Zurich, Switzerland. It has become popular with local and international dancers alike.

On the 5.-7. September 2025, Bachatown will host a three-day special edition in festival format - “Zurich Bachatown – The Weekend” - which will include 20 amazing workshops led by national and international artists, open-end socials and many amazing shows.

Additionally, a tournament in Bachata Jack & Jill and a Bachata Battle will take place as part of the event.

Zurich Bachatown - the Weekend is taking place in a wonderful location in Zurich Opfikon.
There is a lot of space, airflow and high ceilings, beautiful decorations and many options for refreshments.

How can I compete in the Swiss Bachata Tournament?

1. FULL PASS + TOURNAMENT REGISTER
The Full Pass includes the tournament fees for the competition (both categories). You can take part in every workshop and all three Social Parties. To participate in the Tournament only have to register via the link.

2. COMPETITOR PASS + TOURNAMENT REGISTER
The Competitor Pass includes the tournament fees for the competition (both categories). You can also participate in the Competition Preparation Workshop and enjoy the Saturday Social Party. To participate in the Tournament you have to register via the link.

3. SATURDAY PASS + COMPETITOR EXTENSION PASS + TOURNAMENT REGISTER
The Saturday Pass alone does NOT give access to the competition, but all the Saturday Workshops and the Saturday Social Party. To participate in the Tournament you additionally need a COMPETITION EXTENSION PASS (1 per Category you want to take part in) and register via the link.

Can I compete in the Swiss Bachata Tournament if I ONLY have a Saturday Pass?

No, the Saturday pass alone does not include the competition fee for the championship. If you have a Saturday Pass, you need to additionally buy one „Competitor Extension Pass“ per category you want to enter.

Do I need a partner to participate in the Swiss Bachata Tournament?

No, you do not need a partner to participate in the Tournament. Every competitor registers individually, there will be no pre-set couples. Couples for the Jack and Jill will be decided during the competition by chance and changed throughout the competition.
