No one wants the last 2h of the social to be just extremely slow songs or remixes with not a single bachata rhytm
Even more frustrating when you consider that there was already one of the rooms with that type of songs for the whole night. Why forcing the super slow songs on everyone for 2 hours?
If the goal was to create conditions for dancers to hook up, then you should have dedicated one of the rooms for kizomba with almost no lights inside. That's what other festivals do.
The joy of dancing bachata in 2026 resides in its versatility and the pleasure we get from switching from fast to medium to slow paced songs, so we can experience a range of different ways to dance bachata.
You are boring everyone when you play the same type of songs for 2 hours.
- Too many interruptions of the social, too many attention seeking DJs:
From DJs saying their names 5 times, to them butchering songs with awful mixing. DJs think that they are creative when they cue in the next song, when in fact they are killing the vibe. Same when they stop the music to announce the next DJ and are fishing for applause: destroying the vibe again. DJs need to take a cue when no one is applauding them, and learn to not make it all about them but focus on selecting the right songs instead. They should know the other DJs sets so we do not hear the same song twice or thrice during the same social.
Why interrupting the social when it's energy is at its highest to have everyone looking at the giant screen for almost 10 min?
If you think that what you have to show on a screen is absolutely unmissable (it is not...), then do it as a transition from the awards ceremony to the social, so the rest of the night is there for actual dancing
