Malmo Bachata Festival (Sweden) - Feb 2026
The workshops were great.
The audio was really bad. There was feedback in the microphones so many times.. in some workshops the mic kept cutting in and out. In some workshops the audio was too loud. Next time there REALLY needs to be an actual audio tech person who can keep the audio under control and keep it good. The bad audio was so frustrating and bad for our ears. The room itself is a very pretty and nice room but the acoustics are really not great.
The schedule was kind of terrible. Some days there were no good breaks for lunch or dinner. Some days there were like ng breaks with nothing to do - if you were not interested in competitions or did not have a masterclass pass. The schedule needs to be tighter. Put the workshops after one another with fewer breaks. Put breaks for lunch and dinner. Put competitions in a separate room or something so people who are not interested still have something to do.
I was disappointed that the preparty and some workshops were not included in the "full" pass. Having different levels of tickets is fine, like silver and gold or whatever, but this was NOT clearly communicated from the start. This information needs to be very clear and obvious from the very start so that people know what they are getting when buying a ticket. When you buy a full pass and then much later find out that some things are not included, it feels dishonest and greedy.
The socials were too late especially on Saturday. Starting the social at 22 when there had already been a long day of workshops is just too late.
Other that these things, the workshops were good and the social dancing was good.
