We believe that Argentine tango can transform the way you see life, enjoy it and understand it. You can learn more about your body, your mind, about others and on top of that you can get together with a good group of friends with the same passion to drink, dance and travel!
We are Borja Alkalde Sainz & Christina Gomez, dancers and teachers of Argentine Tango for 13 years and the directors of two schools of Argentine Tango in Bizkaia:
- Escuela de Baile Querido Tango in Urduliz, in the area of Uribe Kosta, a few kilometres from Bilbao.
- Escuela de Baile Querido Tango Bilbao in the neighbourhood of Deusto, Bilbao.
We are one of the few teachers of Argentine Tango in the Basque Country with international experience.
We have given tango classes and exhibitions in festivals and events all over Europe (Holland, France, Canary Islands, Germany etc.) and in 2019 we were sub-champions in the stage tango category at the European Championship in Munster, Germany and in 4th position at the European Championship in London (officially part of the preliminaries of the World Championship in Buenos Aires).
We have danced together with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra in the great stadium of Miribilla and in their home - the Euskalduna - and in the most important theatre of Bilbao: the Arriaga Theatre.
We are the organisers of the biggest tango festival in Bilbao and one of the best in Spain: Bilbao Tango Festival (third weekend of February every year) at the Palacio Oriol in Bilbao. We also organise the Maratoncito in Urduliz, a tango marathon in a more intimate space.
We give group Argentine tango classes from Monday to Sunday, in our school in Urduliz, Uribe Costa, and in our school in Deusto, Bilbao.We also offer private classes, men's and women's technique classes and wedding packs to prepare your wedding dance. We organise milongas (tango social dances) every Friday and several Saturdays of the month both in Urduliz and Deusto.
